My name is Aasif Bulbulia. I’m a student at Wits University, currently studying towards a Bachelor of Education. I’m also the Chairperson of the Muslim Students Association – Wits Medical School and Education Campus.

I grew up in Mayfair and spent the better part of my life learning from and being immersed in the dynamic, multicultural environment that is Fordsburg. The Fordsburg community is one that’s had a profound impact on shaping my understanding of the world, and its a community that’s very close to my heart. When I was 16 years old, I was blessed with a scholarship to live in the United States for a year as an exchange student.

I’m passionate about Islam, education, poetry, inter-cultural learning and our capacity to influence meaningful change in society, by the Grace of Allah.
